Treasure Coast Firearms Training Personal Protection Outside The Home Instructor Course <p>The 16-hour course is open to current NRA Pistol Instructors who are also NRA Personal Protection In The Home Instructors.&nbsp; The class teaches Instructor Candidates HOW TO TEACH the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.&nbsp; From a review of safe firearms handling and proper mindset to a presentation from concealment and multiple shooting positions, this course contains the essential skills and techniques needed to teach students to prevail in a life-threatening situation.</p><p>The NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor Course is divided into two levels (basic and advanced). Level one offers the essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home. Upon completion of level one, Instructor Candidates will attend level two, which is additional range training and teaches how to teach advanced shooting skills. After the classroom portion, Instructor Candidates should expect to spend several hours on the range during level one. Level two involves additional hours on the range and approximately 200 rounds of ammunition. The ammunition requirements are minimum and may be exceeded.</p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">All courses include the required instructor guides, instruction and follow up support.</span></p><p>PLEASE NOTE: Certifications are issued by the NRA training department.&nbsp; Therefore, there will be additional certification and processing fees payable to the NRA.</p><p><strong>To qualify as a NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor:</strong></p><ul><li>Candidates must possess and demonstrate a solid background in firearm safety and shooting skills acquired through previous firearm training and/or previous shooting experience. Instructor candidates must be intimately familiar with each action type in the discipline they wish to be certified.</li><li>Candidates must satisfactorily complete both the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Course and the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor Course, and receive the endorsement of the NRA Training Counselor conducting that training.</li><li>Complete the NRA Basic Instructor Training Course within the past 2 years if it is not part of this offering</li></ul><p>Please remember NRA Instructor Courses are performance-based courses.&nbsp; Instructor Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for this level of training.</p>
